Installation

It has two parts: the server and the client sides.

Server (Jira)

Install Eclipse BIRT for Jira app on your Jira from the Marketplace, that's all. This will transform your Jira into an Eclipse BIRT server.

The SQL+JQL Driver app is packed within the Eclipse BIRT for Jira app above and it is automatically deployed by Jira behind the scene. This will transform your Jira instance into a secured RDS.

Upgrade the SQL+JQL Driver to the latest version to get the safest and best performing version with all the features.

Local (Desktop)

Report Designer for Windows

BIRT reports are XML files (with the .rptdesign extension). The Eclipse BIRT Report Designer is a desktop tool to create and run BIRT reports from a friendly GUI environment from your laptop.

Download and install the BIRT Report Designer and install it on your local desktop.

JDBC Driver

You have to download our JDBC Driver (Java binary library with the .jar extension) to access the Jira SQL+JQL database.

You are done. You can now configure the JDBC Driver to connect to Jira and read the data from your local report.

Publishing reports

Once your report is finished send it to your Jira administrator for uploading it into Jira and configure the access permissions and the locations where it will be available from.
