Since the 4.2.0 version just the same views for linked issues (Hierarchical tree and Matrix) can be added to Jira Dashboards and Confluence pages via these gadgets:
Links Pivot Table View (since version 6.0.0), renamed to "Links Dependency Table View" (since version 7.0.0)
Links Hierarchy View gadget
Simply provide the Issue key for the root element in the hierarchy:

You can set editable or non-editable mode. In non-editable mode you can collapse depth levels, export to excel and view in dependency matrix or in issue navigator (“More” menu).
